Railways running special trains from Guwahati to help stranded passengers

A special passenger train into Dimapur from Guwahati will even run on Saturday night, they stated.  Even though 2000-2400 passengers were ferried from the previous two days, approximately 600-800 passengers were stranded in Guwahati. 
Particular passenger trains have been conducted in Guwahati so that individuals reach their destination at upper Assam.  1 such train was worked on Friday to Dimapur.  Trains were run on Saturday on Furkating, the principal railway junction in Assam's Golaghat district, and also to Dibrugarh.
Railways is conducting special trains from Guwahati to assist stranded passengers in Assam that has been struck by violent protests from the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Many elements of northeast India have observed violent protests over the last couple of days from the Citizenship Amendment Act, which expedites citizenship programs in non-Muslim religious minorities in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

The officials said the railways is using social websites such as Facebook and Twitter to inform passengers about the particular trains and to appeal to folks to not vandalise station land.  Officers will also be always monitoring the situation along with senior officers are camping in control chambers to oversee.

 "Railways is getting to be a soft goal and tens of thousands of passengers are stranded and invisibly.  Railways is making attempts for notifying about cancellation of trains.  Security of passengers is paramount and thus ward of trains.  Wherever possible, local railroad management is conducting local trains for flying passengers," an official said.
